This year I’ve pushed myself to expand my knowledge and skill sets.  It was not always easy but I managed to take and pass eight technical exams.  I started out with multiple choice style exams administrated by ProMetric on topics such as Mac OS X and Linux.  I finished out this year with two exams (EX200 and EX300) from Red Hat.  Red Hat is the mainstream enterprise Linux distribution and their training programs are not a walk in the park.  Their exams are lab based and you are graded on your performance.  I was lucky to be one of the first people to take the RHEL6 version of these exams.  I personally feel that it was a blast, aside from all the coffee and Mt. Dew that I could handle, it was a rewarding challenge.   2am on the fourth business day after I took the exams (basically six days) I received my results.
